 Prof. Kokwaro obtained his B. Pharm (1978) and M.Sc. (1982) from University of Nairobi, PhD ( Pharmacokinetics; 1987) from the University of Wales and Post-Doctoral Fellowship ( Clinical Pharmacology; 1991-1993) at the University of Liverpool. He has since attended short courses at the Royal Post Graduate School of Medicine ( Clinical harmacology) ,the University of Leiden, The Netherlands (Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic modeling) and the Stowe Summer School , Stowe, UK (Drug Metabolism). He has served as Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacy Practice, University of Nairobi, as an external examiner in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Microbiology at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania;
