At AiBST we focus on drug discovery, development and optimum clinical use of medicines in Africa in areas of malaria, T.B, HIV/AIDS and other tropical diseases. Our strategy combines research, educational and commercial activities.
The AiBST Conference and Workshops on Pharmacogenetics & Genomics which was to be held from the 25th-28th of february 2008 at Pan Afric hotel, Kenya, has been cancelled due to unstable conditions in Kenya. Any inconvinience caused is sincerely regretted.
AIBST is happy to introduce Winnie Mozirandi , a third year student from Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT). She joined AIBST in October 2007 and she is currently involved in the biobank and pharmacogenetics project.

-Dr Collen Masimirembwa was elected as a fellow member of the Zimbabwe Academy of Science.
-Alice Matimba recently attended the African Conference of Human Genetics in Cairo, Egypt. Her poster was awarded a second place prize.

New Equipment for AiBST
The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics and Bio-analytical Chemistry (DMPK-BAC) section recently acquired an LC-MS dedicated to supporting drug discovery, preclinical and clinical studies. the LC-MS will aid in greatly improving analytical efficiency of both research and contract work at AIBST..........read more
